A Gay couple (Alejandro and Jimmy) are separated when one of the lovers (Jimmy) decides to join the military. Alejandro (Alex) is left behind to raise their adopted child and Jimmy has gone missing in Afghanistan and is presumed dead. Alex is an overweight Hispanic male who is now faced with balancing raising a child and the hilarious and sometimes poignant escapades of dating in a hedonistic and body conscious gay world.

Alejandro Martinez (Alex) is a handsome 34 year old heavy set gay man. He has always been an overweight person. He is grieving the death of his partner to whom he had been ‘married’ to for over 15 years. Alex and his son, Karl, live with Jo-Ann, whose real name is Juanita. Jo-Ann is Alex’s mother and known as somewhat of a nymphomaniac.

Alex met Jimmy Henderson when both were attending High School. Jimmy is an attractive gay man and had been active in sports. Alex belonged to the chess club and was an outstanding academic student, whereas Jimmy was an outstanding athlete and required tutoring to maintain his grade point average requirement.
Alex took on the task of tutoring Jimmy in high school calculus and this is how they met and developed a relationship and eventually became high school lovers. Jimmy fell in love with Alex and admired his handsomeness and intelligence. Alex and Jimmy are known for being kind and compassionate with a high respect for each other.

After high school, Alex and Jimmy moved in together and attended college. Upon graduating from college, Jimmy proposed to Alex and stated that he wants a ‘marriage’ and a family. Soon after the commitment ceremony, Jimmy and Alex adopted their son Karl. Karl was four years old when he was adopted. Karl was the son of Jimmy’s sister who ran off with a boyfriend.

Jimmy, Alex, and Karl, who is now 15 years old, watched the 911 tragedy along with the rest of the nation. After several weeks of contemplating the destruction of the World Trade Center, Jimmy enlisted with the Marines. Jimmy finally revealed to his family that he enlisted in the Marines and is leaving for boot camp. Alex and Karl are shocked that Jimmy kept his enlistment a secret and never had discussed this decision with the family.

Feeling it is his duty and calling to join the cause against terrorism and the preservation of the American way of life, Jimmy leaves his lover and adopted son for the military. Unfortunately, he goes missing in Afghanistan and is presumed dead.

Jo-Ann works in a boutique with a beautiful and somewhat shallow gay man. Everyone knows that Jo-Ann has a sexual addiction and is sometimes caught in compromising situations due to her sexual escapades. Jo-Ann is a proud Hispanic American woman and does not want to be stereotyped. Hispanic may be her ethnicity but foremost she and her family are Americans.

After spending a month of moping and depression, Alex decides to join the world of the living and begin dating again. He goes on a few blind dates with some bitter and somewhat humorous consequences. Karl and his best friend decide to help dad find a date and Google a club that caters to fat gay men and the men who love them. Karl sends his dad to the hip club named Phatz-Ohs

Phatz-Ohs is owned by a bohemian heavy set man known as Sparky. Sparky is a witty blond overweight man who is comfortable with himself and is seen with very handsome young skinny men who are attracted to fat men, or otherwise known as chubby chasers. Sparky runs a very profitable business and is also a successful promoter. During one of his promotions, Sparky meets ‘Kwan – Doo’ (a witty and skinny Asian). The meeting is love at first sight for both of them.
